Performance investigation of a two-stage thermoelectric cooler with inhomogeneous materials

چکیده

A novel model of two-stage thermoelectric cooler with inhomogeneous thermal conductivity in steady-state operating condition is established. The modification the constant properties allows controlling distribution Joule heat. Considering internal irreversibilities cooler, expressions for cooling capacity, COP, and exergy efficiency are derived. By utilizing numerical methods, temperature profile along legs presented. optimal regions explored. COP vs. capacity describing inhomogeneity materials plotted. Meanwhile, influence main parameters such as variation distribution, cold-end number modules on performance discussed detail. Results indicate that improved compared to those homo?geneous coolers when an appropriate property parameter applied. work can provide guidance design actual materials.
